It's Official — Strategy Is Now the World's Largest Bitcoin Holder

Strategy Inc. is now the world's largest Bitcoin holder with 815,061 BTC. Confirmed by SEC filing, the leaderboard has officially flipped.

Last week, we told you the flip was coming. This week, it happened.

Strategy Inc. purchased an additional 34,164 Bitcoin, bringing its total treasury to 815,061 BTC — officially surpassing BlackRock's IBIT, which holds 802,823 BTC. Strategy is now the world's largest institutional Bitcoin holder.

BitcoinTreasuries.NET’s Tyler Rowe breaks down why this news is so monumental for the Bitcoin industry:

This week's acquisition is Strategy's third-largest single-week purchase on record, funded primarily through its STRC preferred equity program. Our STRC Bitcoin Accumulation Tracker continues to prove its value — forecasting 26,334 BTC in STRC-driven purchases against a confirmed 29,254 BTC, with the remaining 4,919 BTC coming through regular ATM stock sales. On Strategy's third-largest single-week buy ever, the model tracked direction and magnitude.

With deep expertise in capital markets and strict regulatory standards, SDM stands out as the premier platform for all digital asset treasury teams looking to optimize their trading and treasury operations.

Why This Matters

In the video above, Tyler outlines why Strategy’s Bitcoin buying marathon, powered by STRC, has changed the game:

  • Mega Buy + Unmatched Scale: Strategy executed its third-largest Bitcoin purchase ever — 34,164 BTC for roughly $2.54 billion at an average price near $74,000. Total holdings now stand at 815,061 BTC. Strategy is indisputably the dominant player shaping the entire bitcoin market.

  • The STRC Flywheel (Digital Credit Era): 85% of the purchase was funded through the STRC preferred equity. This marks the evolution of Strategy's playbook from opportunistic capital raises to a repeatable, scalable financing system built specifically to acquire Bitcoin. This turns accumulation into an ongoing machine rather than a series of isolated events.

  • Speed and Execution: Most of the $2.5 billion was raised and deployed within two days — Monday and Tuesday only. STRC didn't even trade at par on Wednesday through Friday. The capital mobilization speed here is unlike anything else in public markets.

  • The Supply Vacuum: Strategy bought 1,085% of the weekly mined supply in a single week. Year-to-date: 142,561 BTC acquired against roughly 49,000 mined globally. The gap — 93,511 BTC — is the supply vacuum. Bitcoin is being absorbed faster than it can be created. That's a structural shift that is coiling a spring due to Bitcoin’s finite supply.

  • Profitability + The Digital Credit Revolution: With a cost basis around $75,500 and Bitcoin trading just above that level, Strategy's entire stack is back in profit. The proposed shift to semi-monthly STRC dividends — formalized with a June 8th shareholder vote — would make STRC the only preferred security in the world paying semi-monthly. Paired with how Strive's SATA is paying on off-weeks, digital credit holders could collect a dividend every single week.

  • The Endgame: S&P Inclusion: Sustained profitability makes S&P 500 inclusion a realistic outcome — forcing passive funds and retirement accounts to gain indirect Bitcoin exposure through MSTR, whether they want it or not. That’s the roadmap to widespread bitcoin adoption.

Last week, we told you the flip was coming. This week, it's confirmed. Here's what the new leaderboard looks like — and how far Strategy has already pulled ahead.

Strategy vs BlackRock

Strategy (MSTR) 🇺🇸

BTC added: 34,164 BTC
Estimated value: $2.54 billion (at an average of $74,395 per BTC)
New total holdings: 815,061 BTC
Funding source: ATM equity raise
Current Ranking: #1 among public companies
% of total supply: ~3.88%
Market cap: $55 Billion (Basic)
Enterprise value: $72 Billion
mNAV: 1.26

To emphasize scale: year-to-date, Strategy has accumulated 142,500 BTC while the Bitcoin mining industry has produced 49,000 BTC. This means Strategy is buying at nearly 3x the global mining rate. The supply vacuum now stands at 93,511 BTC — more than all miners have produced in 2026 combined.

BlackRock (IBIT) 🇺🇸

BTC added: 12,015 BTC
Estimated value: ~$900 million
New total holdings: 802,823 BTC
Funding source: Investor creations / net inflows

IBIT added an estimated 12,015 BTC over the same period. New competition from Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs entering the ETF space is putting pressure on IBIT's position, particularly on fees and distribution.
